Michael
and his family migrated to the United States in 1987. He attended
Bridgeport Central High School, where he sustained a major injury that
resulted in the end of his soccer playing career. With soccer no longer
an option, Michael decided to focus on his academics.
During
the fall of 1990 he enrolled at Delaware State University, where he
received a Bachelor Degree in Political Science. He later received a
Master Degree in Education from the University of Bridgeport.
Michael’s
coaching career began while he was in graduate school. During the fall
of 1997 he was hired as the Assistant varsity and head Junior Varsity
soccer coach by Notre Dame High School in Fairfield Connecticut. He
would soon find out that coaching Soccer the game he loves brought him
the kind of joy and fulfillment that he could not get doing anything
else. Michael is currently a Social Studies teacher in the Bridgeport
School district. He is also the head Varsity Soccer coach at Bassick
High School.
Over
the past ten years Michael has been actively coaching children of all
ages and skill level in the Fairfield county area. He has been able to
combine his ability to teach, with his vast knowledge of the game to
improve the overall skills of hundreds of soccer players.
In
creating MAJ SOCCER, Michael’s goal is to continue to assist in the
growth of local kids, not only as soccer players, but also as
productive members of the community.
